I started early this morning. (Not as early as I should - but anyhow
-I never do….. ) I had some things to do before the ferry left, but I manage to get it all done and I did not forget anything!! Yea
Anyway, the ferry left at 8:30 am.
On my way driving east on the south side I saw several harts (deer) and I’m sorry: but no pictures of them
There is a lot of them everywhere. But especially some places on the south side. So I try to drive with that in mind. I don’t want any harts on my car! One of these days, I’ll get a picture of them
I got early to the church, I like that. Got some time to do the last prepares and be quiet for a while. I was not all finished with my sermon and tried to make it more like what I wanted…. Sermons are tricky things from time to time; this one I had a good idea about - but couldn’t quite get it down on the paper…
The youths got there around 10:15 am and soon the photograph arrived too. I like to take the picture of the group before the service; less crowded then
After they ran off to get dressed in white; like when they got baptized so many years ago.
The church was really starting to fill then and thanks to my good helpers

…everything went smoothly!
Usually this congregation is small, but really good singers. This day the church was filled to the last place; but the singing was lousy. A lot of the people just sat there, did not take part in anything - it seemed. No wonder service can be a dull and boring thing. You have to give a little - to get something in return. At least that’s my philosophy….
But still the service went well, and the youths took part in the service; it warmed my heart
They even remembered the one verse from the Bible that I asked them to learn by heart: John 3:16
For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.
When the service was over there was more photos and congratulations. Before everyone went to their parties. Usually there is invited a bunch of family and sometimes friends to dinner and later coffee. In the old days this was the first day of adult life. Now they, for the most part, remain children a little bit longer. But it is still a mark in many youths life. Of course because of the gifts; but I hope that they get something to live on, other than money, too!
On my way home I took some photos of the scenery. Look, the fjord is still green

This is the view from the church facing north.

This is the view from a bridge facing south; it is not the same valley as the church though.
I got home around 1:30 pm, both tired and happy
And it is so good to know that the rest of the day I can just do whatever I want. And to lift my spirit even more, the second ferry got back home today! The first ferry was away earlier and I wrote about that here.

Welcome back; I missed you too!
