At 11 am the red church was filled with youths from all the schools in this area (kommune); a total of around 380 people!! I think that’s a first in the church history
And just what the builders dreamed about! We was not together to hold service though, all off the schools brought a song or poem or play with them and showed to each other. I tried to tie the different things together and also got to say a little about the day and about the church and it’s role as the place to go and hear news back in 1905.

About 500 people found their way to this little town today, at the pier the townspeople and a few other held demonstrations of old tools and ways to do things, and there was also food to sample. There was also some new things to watch or to buy. *I fell for this little bear*, made by chainsaws (!):

On this day 100 years ago, the Norwegian government decided it was no more a country under the lead of the Swedish king. Norway became free for the first time in centuries. A while there was fear of war between the two countries, but it never happened. Sweden and Norway became separate and a little later in the year of 1905 Norway got their own king; the grandfather of todays king.
I’m off to celebrate the day ![]()
