I’m so proud of my self! I finally got around to try and make my own pasta sauce (so I did’t have more of the bought one, but still..). The thing is; it was easy! With my new blender it was done in no time as all.
This is what I used:
1 onion
2 cloves of garlic
1 carrot
mama africa hot spice
10 slices* of chilies
1 box of crunched tomatoes
a hint of lime
a spoon of sugar
dried basil
I fried the onions and the other stuff, then I added the tomatoes (and lime and sugar for balance..) and let i cook for a little while. Then I pored it all into my blender and wolla a beautiful and spicy sauce. Maybe not so very Italian, but who cares! It tasted good!
And, yes, I ate it up looong before I ever thought of taking a photo, so there.
*these I keep in my freezer. Whenever I buy chilies I chop them up, put them in a box and then put the box in the freezer. Whenever I need some I find the box and use as many slices as I like. No more chilies going bad in this house!
