We woke up to a wonderful, bright and sunny day. I love this!!
We’ve had a slow morning, but soon we’re heading out for a short visit to some friends. Nice to be outside now when the sun is shining. Hopefully it’s as warm as it looks.
There are no services close by, so now I’m watching an easter service on TV from a catholic church in Bergen. The service seems to be a story about all the days from Palm Sunday to Easter day. Now they are reading the story from Good Friday. Earlier on they where outside and walked with palm branches and read about Palm Sunday. They have a children choir too, they are cute and try to sing, but they’re not always so sure about which key to sing on….
I want me a choir like that for our church as well!
The picture above was made for a service in one of the churches some years ago, I scanned them and like to show them off, hehe. As you can see there are many people that has taken off their clothes and covered the road with it, now Jesus can ride over them…. The belov picture is from the same occation, and this one is my favorite of them all, I love that donkey!!
And now for the story like Mark tell’s it (Mark 11:1-10)
As Jesus and his disciples approached Jerusalem, they came to the towns of Bethphage and Bethany, on the Mount of Olives. Jesus sent two of them on ahead. “Go into that village over there,” he told them, “and as soon as you enter it, you will see a colt tied there that has never been ridden. Untie it and bring it here. If anyone asks what you are doing, just say, ‘The Lord needs it and will return it soon.’”
The two disciples left and found the colt standing in the street, tied outside a house. As they were untying it, some bystanders demanded, “What are you doing, untying that colt?” They said what Jesus had told them to say, and they were permitted to take it. Then they brought the colt to Jesus and threw their garments over it, and he sat on it.
Many in the crowd spread their coats on the road ahead of Jesus, and others cut leafy branches in the fields and spread them along the way. He was in the center of the procession, and the crowds all around him were shouting,
“Praise God!
Bless the one who comes in the name of the Lord!Bless the coming kingdom of our ancestor David!
Praise God in highest heaven!”
