May 17th is our national day. We swing our flag and shout “hipp hipp hurra!”, enjoy being outside and together.

We dress up, many in national costume - bunad. We eat a lot of ice cream and hot dogs. We walk in procession after brass band music and do attend church.

There is funny things to do for the children and the adults becomes children out on the soccer field as you can see.

It was a nice and good day. There where no rain and the weather was warm. This is MT’s first time and he enjoyed it, even though he got soooo tired. He was dressed in folk costume from Ethiopia, which he is so proud of wearing. I’m proud too!!

So happy 17th of May, Norway!! God 17. mai!!

I promised a photo, if I got one, and here are several. Neither of them are super good, but you get the idea - right… Queen Mary 2 is the world second largest ship. So even though she gets a bit small next to the high mountain, and because the fjord is wide here, do sail far from the shore - it’s not at all a tiny ship!!
