Sunday I “baby sat” our neighbor of 4,5 yr. He’s an active boy so I was kind of worried of running after him all day. But it went good. I bribed him ;) - and my son - to good behavior…. Not with a lot of things; but if they behaved I promised a trip to the south side and on the way home, if they still were good boys, an ice cream was awaiting them. With that and with the boys figuring out that it paid off to be nice; we had a great day :D

So here is what we did:

E got here “early”, MT was still in bed and almost asleep - and I had turned the alarm clock off. So we had to jump out of bed and run down when we heard the door bell. Bad planning…. Anyhow, MT had to be feed and E really wanted to watch some video, so I placed them both in front of the TV with Tigger running. Then I headed for a quick shower.

DSCF2075 Since it was service in the church next door, I took a chance and brought the boys along. Thankfully there was room for us in the back, and the boys was good; not silent but good enough - come on they are still small children!

DSCF2089 The congregation don’t mind children, but sometimes I want to tell them to move a bit forward so there is a small gap between me and them. That way they would be closer to the pastor too and hear better and don’t have small boys right behind them to disturb them…..

After the service someone brought coffee, biscuits and limonad. My first cup of coffee that day; so much needed!!

On the way back home we stopped by the fjord to throw some stones (and other stuff) into the water. My son’s favorite hobby! It was not easy to make them move along, but finally I had both boys with me. Back home they played outside with the ball and I made some lunch to bring with us, before we all headed for the ferry. The weather was great and they both had summer gear on. Even on board the ferry the temperature was okei, even outside. I wasn’t the only one enjoying the ride. The good thing was that the boys actually was listening, for a ferry is not a place to run wild, both for the danger and because there are a whole lot of other people there!!

DSCF2140DSCF2142 Then we took a left turn to the museum I had planned to visit. The museum is owned and run by a man I know well and his wife I know even better. She’s active in our church. A few years ago this man made his dream come through. A museum filled with wild animals, dead ones I might add.

We call it utstoppa; if I try to translate it to English it will sound like stuffed animals and I know that is wrong - but I don’t know the right word - so please help me!!! He also have a farm of capercaillie; the gallinaceous bird Tetrao urogallus, a large wood grouse. After we had watched the museum for a while he took us over to the farm and showed us capercailzie mating game; that was something else!!

During that time his wife made us something to eat and we enjoyed the outdoor and nice surroundings for a while. When we returned to the car I saw that most of the day already was gone, and no big trouble had emerged. I was so glad, and so happy for the boys - when she returns I’m sure going to brag to E’s mom!

DSCF2199 When we got to the ferry I noticed it being late, after a little while I saw why: one express bus had caught fire, now it only was black and burned around the motor. Glad we wasn’t here when it was all flames and such, that’s scary! Anyway, the only thing that was on the boys mind when driving on board was to buy ice cream; so we did! Yummi!! Ice cream in the summer is fantastic :D

DSCF2144Each day at 6 pm there is half an hour of children programs on our national channel (the one without advertising..). So the boys sat in the chair and enjoyed it together. Then they played outside for a while before E’s aunt came and picked him up (that’s where he’s staying actually while his mom is on a trip, he just had to stay with us this day because his aunt and brothers should walk in the mountain far longer than E’s 4,5 yr’s leg could take…). MT cried when he left. A sure way to tell me he had had a great day! And then he was so tired that he cried a little bit more….. When he finally got in bed he fall asleep so quickly. And then I had a little time to myself, that was good too!!!
