Due to some work related stuff I was outside late tonight walking up to a neighbor’s mailbox, just up the hill. I’m not good with mornings, at least not Saturday mornings, so I had to do it tonight rather than tomorrow….
I brought the camera and tried to capture some of the night and the lights of our town.
Nighty night!!!
I can’t help but love the spring weather we’re having, now matter that most of the hours are spent indoors at work…. It’s still sun from blue sky for several days already!
And even though the chilly wind is here to tell it’s not summer already, it’s lovely to feel the warmth of the sun and chill out with a little ice lolly together with my son. Today we also ate our dinner outside!
By the way, we had a great staff meeting at work today and worked out some great ideas using a creative tool called the A4. Each of us used about 15 minutes to write down our ideas, one idea for each page; then we all read through all the ideas and wrote adding ideas and such wherever we felt we had something more to say. The result was a thick envelope of sheets with ideas on. Next time we’re going to figure out if any of our ideas do work in real life – and in deed are a solution to our problem(!)
I’ll finish with a link to this site – it gave me my domains value ($4,011) – how much is your worth??!
Thanks Valerie ![]()
I had fun!
The weather has been so great lately. And now the daffodils are in full bloom.
I love these yellow beauties
Monday we went for a visit up north, to our good friends and because MT needed to give a blood sample (or how to put it in English
) in the hospital. He did well, by the way, didn’t hurt a bit he told me. But he didn’t want to do it again – so there. The nurse gave him a big and colorful bandage and he got a colorful (and hairy) pink troll as a price as well. Good boy!!
The children had some fun hours playing together and I got to catch up a bit with my friend, and the little one – she’s gotten so big already!! Hopefully we’ll meet more frequently now the spring is here. February and March have been some busy months, so far. We planned to meet up to celebrate MT’s baptism 1 years anniversary on Easter Day. So it won’t be long before we’ll see them.
Tuesday I had a full day of work and then we had our Sunday school on Tuesday. But only one child in addition to MT came. They had a fun time playing with balls and then they wanted me to tell them about Easter and what Easter Jesus experienced. It was great to get this question and we had a wonderful time going through much of the stories for Maundy Thursday and Good Friday. In a way it was a relief to only have two to focus on for a change (usually we are around 8 or 10).
Today, Wednesday, we’ve had our regional gathering of the pastors and also, this day, of many of the church musicians. It’s nice to have a day to plan together and meet like this, since most of us do work a lot on our own more or less. Today we had a visitor that told us about the ongoing work for revitalizing our church’s main service form and liturgy. The key word for the future, in addition to the Jesus centered ones, are: Flexible, Involving and Local. I thing this is going to be a great and needed reform and really do look forward to 2010 when we for real can put it into our church life!!

Later I spent some time playing football/soccer with my boy. He so love it when I have some time for that and today he even called me cool(!) since I can shoot the ball way up in the air and quite a distance according to him
After we ate our very first ice lolly of the year; it tasted sooooo good!! It felt like summer and I love the thought of that
To finish of our healthy day we ate hot dog as dinner…. Then MT was put to bed, and I got some time for my self!
So there, a little bit of update, but now I have to prepare for tomorrow. I’m going to visit MT’s kindergarten to tell about Christian Easter and then we’re having a staff meeting where we’re going to figure out how to save money on our church budget, that already are way to small. That won’t be much fun, but I do hope we can find some creative solutions that work when we all put our minds together.
Good night!
And do remember to smell the flowers, outside or inside as you wish….
Hugs!
My brother has his 33rd birthday today!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY AND BEST WISHES FROM US
The photo is from last year, when we visited you at work one cold – but bright – February day!
I moved slowly this morning. Knowing I had time for it; it was still a while before we had to take the ferry. Then the phone rang! It was our church musician, he asked if I had remembered to turn my clock one hour ahead for summer time. “Summer time is that now?!“, was all I could say – and then “I’ll be taking the next ferry; bye!” And then I ran around like a crazy person trying to be finished in time, I managed, but still what was supposed to be 50 minutes of slowly moving around turned out to be 20 minutes of running….
Sadly I forgot my computer when running into and out of my office, so the power point I made on Friday was never shown. I was angry with my self for a while, but decided to stop and do the best out of everything. We got to church 10 minutes before the service should start and even though a few minutes late we started the service with a smile.
Today has been a beautiful day with sun from blue sky. And even though the wind’s been a bit cold the sun has been warm. In fact me and MT had out first dinner outside of this year

Ah, dinner was good at my cousins wedding last April – and the decor beautiful white and light green
He got me scared. “I have not been on your computer,” he said with a big smile. I couldn’t tell if he was so proud of him self for listening to me or if it was one of those moments where he says the opposite of the truth. Like when he’s farted he usually tell by his: “what’s that smell?!” -question. That I find amusing, being on my computer is not!
I had to walk him to kindergarten, before I could check. We ran late as usual, I can’t seem to be finished five minutes earlier no matter how I try – it’s annoying to always be 2-5 minutes late! Anyhow, the day is sunny and cloudy – I hope more for more sun, but it’s not to bad
After starting my laptop I see that he probably hasn’t been here, so I guess he was proud
(good boy!) I guess I have to put a lock on this thing!!!
Have a great Tuesday!!

MT’s really enjoying his first blueberry smoothie
Happy Saturday to everyone, mine has been quiet and good. Now I’m just about ready to go to sleep, hopefully MT won’t wake up at 6:30 am tomorrow like he did today. I know many of you are used to start every day at that hour or maybe even earlier, but I’m not. I so don’t want my boy to be either
I guess it’s the light outside that confuses him, he’s been up bright and early all this week. Or up is not the word, he has not been allowed to call it morning until around 7:30 am…. I know, I’m a mean mother…
Sleep tight!!
I’ve been messing a bit with the coloring of my layout, I’m not finished with the whole color scheme, but I have figured out how to change the rounded corner and dotted areas in the heading. I used Gimp and just changed the colormap – it was in fact not that hard
Now I just have to clean up the colors a bit and keep the few 3-5 colors, or so, that I like and which works with my lime photo.
Do you have a favorite tool or maybe a website you go to find the perfect color scheme? And can anyone tell me how I can find just the right hex of the colors in my photo to use in the design…??!!
Thanks in advance
This evening I almost fall asleep during children TV (our national channel has a show from 6 pm to 6:40 pm that every children in Norway do watch, as do MT), and even though I should have gotten out of my big chair instead of letting MT crawl up in my lap with a warm blanket over us both, I did not.
Now, four hours later, my head is still a bit foggy and MT was put in his own bed only an hour ago. For the very first time we both fall asleep in front of the telly

So I’ve been a bit out of it again lately, some might call it a pattern
Anyhow, our weekend with the Confirmants went well. They enjoyed it and had fun, and I even think they learned a thing or two as well. But I’m getting old! I can’t keep up with their late nights….. – or, I tried and had to pay! I managed to stay awake for the service in the local church and even for the tidying up afterwards, but then on our way back home I just had to stop the car and sleep for a few minutes. No way I could have driven anymore without falling asleep…… After 15 minutes I managed to drive the last 30 kilometers and then rested on board the ferry. And, no, I did not go to bed early that night – I enjoyed the stillness of my house and some hours all alone
Most of the Monday went by without me doing a thing, other than sleeping and talking on the phone. But it was a great day and some good talks, so there! I’ll do the cleaning bit another day (next summer or something..) :dizzy:
Today I’ve been out driving as well, all the way to the red church on the south side, for confirmation class and some baptism preparations (or what to call it). We do use the Pearls of Life wreath in our class and today we talked about one of the red pearls – the Love pearls – about what it stands for, how it is different from the other red pearl and how it is connected.
From the Pearl of Life website:
It takes two to love and the pearls of love are two, one for being loved, the other for loving others.
Love is life’s greatest gift, a source of eternal joy. Love can also be painful. In order to love fully, we need to know that we are loved. In love we are two, the loved one and the loving one. The first red bead is about being loved. About being open for the love that comes to us. Here, the love-starved human experiences a sense of being loved and wanted. This is the greatest gift…..
Sorry for the absence over the last week – but sadly, and not for the very first time, I forgot to renew my lease!!! This is my second time, and I have only had this home for two years… Can somebody please remind me about this next year around February 20th??!! :dizzy:
Anyhow, we had great fun on our vacation back east. The week was a bit short, though, and we had to leave after just a few days….
This week is busy, I do have flue light (or what to call it) and the first day of the week I had to push my body to move at all, I’m better now but still a bit tired. Tomorrow we’re having our annual confirmation class sleepover or weekend, this year we’re doing things a bit easier and just have two days and one night. MT are going to join us, I do hope for good weather (it’s not going to happen..) and maybe to find him a few playmates
This year we’re working with the Pearls of Life in our classes and we are going to prepare a service with this as it’s main theme. I think I never have stripped a service of so much liturgy, readings, psalms and prayers (at least in it’s usual form) – but I think this is going to be a great service for all. After an opening psalm the people are going to walk through the Pearls of Life, the confirmants shall make stations for all the pearls and I have printed a scripture to read. At some of the stations we have small gifts in form of cross, heart and fish made of a kind of clay.
Now I’m going to pack our bags and sleep a little, by 9 am tomorrow we’re going to be on the ferry on our way to the south side. See you later on!!
Hugs
