I was supposed to write a sermon for tomorrow but now it’s already today and I haven’t written a word, nor do I know where to start. I have a couple of other things on my mind, but I’m also known to work like this… Letting the theme, the word of God, some prayers and the day (in the church year and so on) all “jumping up and down” in my mind a while before anything use able can come out of it.

flagg 17th of May is Norway’s national day. We celebrate with flags and processions - and services in the church. It is for this day I am preparing the sermon. A few verses of Mary’s song of Praise is the text:

His mercy extends to those who fear him, from generation to generation.
He has performed mighty deeds with his arm;
he has scattered those who are proud in their inmost thoughts.
He has brought down rulers from their thrones but has lifted up the humble.
He has filled the hungry with good things but has sent the rich away empty.

Luk 1:50-53

A beautiful text, but also provocative - for we are the rich ones…. - I guess that is in the heart of my sermon tomorrow!!

First I need some sleep. My thoughts are often much better arranged in the morning ;) See you around!

Happy birthday, Norway!!
