MT got his Crown in the kindergarten today. So proud!

After almost a week at home with chicken pox, MT went to kindergarten again this morning. He was so eager to go this morning that he started asking me if it wasn’t time to go an half hour before the kindergarten even opened! He had to wait a bit longer than 7:30 am, though, since I knew I would be late picking him up.
Anyhow, they celebrated his birthday and he got his tall and orange crown, waffles and a big smile on his face!! This was really important to him, I’m glad he liked it.
So, now, we are ready to start the celebration weeks. This week with family, next week we invite his friends from kindergarten. Talk about celebration of his fifth birthday; over two weeks in total from the small one we had on the 22nd and to the last party with friends..
5 is a big thing to be! Enjoy, my son
This is some thoughts about a creek and about what camera to buy…

We have a small creek running right by our house. During wintertime it has been a really small one, but now when spring is finally here the creek is grown bigger and the water runs powerfully .
With the snow leaving and all, MT has finally discovered the creek for real.
During the wintertime (and it has been wintertime almost all the time we have lived in this house; we came here in the middle of October and winter came in the middle of November) – he’s been told to stay away from the creek, he has more or less done that and he hasn’t been to keen on getting to know the creek any better. But now, when the snow’s almost gone (and with it all the fun things to do in and with it) he has discovered that he has a fantastic water fall just a few meters from our garden (it’s not that big, but he’s easily amused when it comes to water) –
and now he wants to be outside and a “Mummy, please, can you follow me up there to the water fall?” is not a strange thing to hear. And off course I’ll go with him, at least when I can (the outside air is good to me as well…), I don’t want him to get any ideas and run up there all by him self either! And off course, it gives me several good photo opportunities as well
Speaking of photos; these above are all cell phone ones. Why? Because my digital camera decided to have a zoom error that I can’t fix. It’s been driving me crazy the last few days; I miss bringing the camera with me and I miss
taking photos that turn out a bit better than (most) of the ones taken with my phone. Today I’ve been searching for replacement, my current camera is a Fuji FinePix so that’s what I’m thinking for the next as well. So far I’ve decided against the black FinePix S5700
because it doesn’t come with a rechargeable battery and the green FinePix Z10fd because I can’t afford to pay for design cameras (even though I would love a green one!). Right now the silver Finepix F40d is my favorite.
What do you think?!
To bad you have to spend your 5th birthday at home with chickenpox, but in a week or two there will be celebration both at home, with your friends and with family, and at kindergarten with crown and waffle! Today there will be only me and you celebrating, but don’t worry, I promise: you have still turned 5!! And we are going to make cake
Love you!
Poor daffodils, freezing cold….
Old photo taken in March 2006, this year we have no flowers outside – but we do have snow and it’s April…
So we’ve come do a decision on the whole birthday celebrating thing. We are going to invite all of the boys from MT’s kindergarten.
In other word will a total of 10 boys, between age 4 and 6, enter my home Tuesday afternoon. I might regret this, but hope not
This way we hopefully didn’t leave anyone out (except the girls, though) and everybody should be happy. Probably can’t all of the boys make it this day, but to be on the safe side I booked my mum to be here with us. I’ve seen what 10 boys can do…..
And this weekend we are really going to clean up this place. Probably.
Two years ago my big boy got baptized in the same church as his mother did (mine was a few years earlier, I might add….
).
We haven’t celebrated much today, but we lit the candle he got back then and talked a bit about how good it is that God loves us and want us as his children.
He was baptized on Easter Day back then, so we tend to celebrate that day instead. At least with family and such. This year my mum and dad and my brother with family was with us, it was a great day and we shared a meal of Ethiopian food
Even though he was a big boy of nearly 3 he can’t remember much about the day and I think it’s a bit frustrating for him, so he isn’t too eager to talk about it…. So I try not to push him, but do hope that he by himself one day will ask to see the photos and hear the story; it was an important day no matter how much or how little he can remember!
Love your, big boy!
One of these days I’m going to turn this blog’s winter-look into a springlike one. Sadly it might not be tomorrow, I’m a little behind and MT’s birthday is already next week (help! – any ideas for a simple, but fun, birthday party can be put in the comments below).
Anyhow, it’s still winter and snow outside my door in the real world as well. Today we got more snow. Will the spring come this year?!
(For the record, this photo was taken i February, we haven’t got that much left! The roof is almost bare now…)
The last week and a half have been a though ride. An emotional roller coaster that almost put me to the limit.
Almost is the word; I’m still here doing my work and living life, more or less the same, as I was before my life got turned up side down. I’m glad to be on this side now, and even though it’s far from over, I’m more used to it and I think in the end it’ll turn into something good. I’m not quite sure what kind of good, though, not just yet. I’m sorry for dropping out on most of the online world activities I love so much, I lost my words during all what’s happened in my real world. Or, to tell the truth, after using so many words in the real world, I had no one left for this online world. But I think I’m back now. Missed you.
