He loves lime :D LOL

The very first time MT tasted lemons – he hated it. It was too sour he told me! But recently he have developed a love for the LIME taste. And his mother couldn’t be happier

Journal:
He used to find sour fruits something to avoid, he loves sweets. But then he got a second taste, of LIME, and he changed his mind. Now sour is GOOD!!

Today under the Holy communion I really got a sense off being a part of a big family kneeling. There was the old trusty visitor that always comes, the sick and handicapped who needed some extra help receiving the gifts, the first timer and slightly unsure teenager, the been-her-lots-of-times-and-know-how-to-do-it 5 year old, me – the pastor – and several more. It spoke to me, and it felt great to share this together.

bible, wine and bread
The photo is from a Confirmant Camp; we don’t usually have this kind of bread.

The communion is so not a price table where anyone that’s been good can come and receive the reward. It’s a gift table with something for everyone that wants to know Jesus. No matter if we’ve been good or bad, are young or old, understand a lot or just a tiny bit or can use or legs or need a wheel chair – this is for all of us. We don’t get a whole lot of food as this table, but what we get is enough to give strength, love and forgiveness (- and more!).

When I think about all the churches coming together for services all around the world today – and about all the other people gathering together for Holy communion – I feel so blessed for being a part of this great big family of faith.

HM and MT

Project 365 - Baptism; Jan. 21.2007 Two years ago we celebrated with you that you got baptized. It was so great to be with you then – and I wish I lived closer so I could be come by and give you a hug today. You have been in my thoughts and prayer, though, and now I’m sending you this virtual hug. :D (Hopefully you mummy can bring it along for me) ;)

Hope to see you soon, I miss you – and MT misses you as well!!Happy Birthday H!

…still loving that hat ;)

Bush 1

I had big plans for this day:

  • shoving snow
  • clearing and boxing the Christmas decoration (yes, I know, been a while since I started doing this – got to get it finished already)
  • making a 2009 calendar for a few family members ;) (ahem, a really late Christmas gift…)
  • clean and clear!!
  • do some laundry
  • run the dishwasher. Hey! I did that; the machine is running right now. Yay.
  • make a fabulous and easy dinner (not going to happen :D )
  • be ready to ski with my boy for ski carousel (I’m going to go there with him at least – he’ll be the one skiing, though!)

But I got so slow – almost like I-can’t-move-out-of-the-couch kind of feeling. So I stayed on it with the computer in front of me. Reading, smiling, downloading and getting inspired to scrap. Sadly the sun is soon leaving my backyard, and it would be nice to be outside feeling the sun on my face – but I just needed this hours of rest to come to grip with myself.

I’m still hoping to do some of the things on my list; but surely not all!!

Enjoy life – take time to rest and regroup :D

friends in snow

The kid next door (more or less) visited us tonight. And we had fun playing in the snow in the evening :) I had to join them because of the darkness (it was scary tigers in the forest!) – and ended up with a nearly shoveled drive way and a big smile on my face from spending 1.5 hours OUTside. I loved it; that kind of took me by surprise and I look forward to other nights like this with some of MT’s friends over. It so great to have the snow here, it’s a whole lot – but manageable (at least after a few days of getting it out of the road….)

Anyhow. It’s late. Better find my bed. Good Night!friends in snow

I’m not loving the blitz at these photos, but I had to shot them quickly because the boy moved fast AND it was snowing on my camera(!) Next time I hope to get more photos of them too!

I’ve had some fun trying out new techniques on my scrap page this weekend. I also found some old photos from November 2006. I love these where MT is outside catching soap bubbles. :) The bubbles in the air is extracted from another photo, though, wish I had one where the bubbles had blue sky behind them originally…..

Anyhow; here it is:

I LOOOOOOOOVE the colors and that beautiful blended face!

journaling:
BLOWING BUBBLES  As long as I’ve known him, MT has loved to blow bubbles. I love his smiles of joy and curiosity from this bright November day.

created with wood and nail

I love Saturdays. A time to chill out and sleep in ;)

Today MT was invited to the birthday party of one of his friends from kindergarten. He had fun – and I enjoyed my time at home alone doing nothing more than update my project 365 and download some digi files ;) It’s been snowing the last couple of days, but it is slippery ice underneath – and it’s been to cold for the snow to stuck to it – so it’s really slippery outside right now!!! Hopefully we won’t break anything.

Tonight we have watched telly, talked, written words and letters (mostly MT – mostly impossible to read do to it being letters of MT’s own invention) and he spent some time building new creations with his wood blocks, nails and hammer. I love that he finds this so funny and it’s not as easy as it looks so the practice does him good :)

a man that do outdoor things

Since I had youth club in the evening I was at home during the day. I did a couple of laundry washes (about time!!), throw out the Christmas tree, was online, worked on a scrap page and drank some coffee. My dad came to watch MT while I was away. It was a relaxed day but I still was super tired by the time I got home from the youth club at 00:15. I guess I’m not a youngster anymore ;) lol

When MT got home from kindergarten he pronounced that he was going to be the kind of man that did the outdoors job – and then he took the broom and started working the snow :D He cracks me up! But I don’t mind him helping out a bit.

cupcake w stars

Since we invited guest to our house on January 14th we didn’t throw out our Christmas tree on the 13th as usual. Instead we said our good buy to it on Thursday night, the 15th – and ate freshly made cupcakes to celebrate ;) I then de-dressed the tree and throw it outside on Friday 16th. The Christmas time lasted long in our house this year!

guests in my sofa

This day we invited four lovely young girls to dinner. It was so nice :D They all work for YWAM (Youth With A Mission) and I admire their commitment and courage for doing what they do. In just a few weeks three of them are off to Milan for 4 months as short time missionaries. My hope and prayers are that they are safe and get to talk with people about Jesus; spread his words in a good way. The fourth girl I know better, we have been working together for a couple of years already, right now she is in school (with the other ones) – but when they go out she comes back her to spend her last months among the youths right here at our place :)

One of the girls are not in the photo, but here she is ;)

corn

On Tuesday I was sick. The only thing I could do all day was laying on my couch sleeping. So I did. But after doing that all day I had to make some dinner for the two of us; I choose an easy option: corn, hamburger and mash potatoes. It was still good, and as you can see on the photo MT saves the best stuff to eat latest….(or how to put it in English) lol.

rosehip

The weekend was (among other things) filled with scrapbooking, I finished several scraps – both for my scrap friend Jess Gordon and her new kit So Flirty (scrap is here) and for Pretty Scrappy where I’m on the CT team (scrap is here). This Monday, after a long day at work, I joined the blog train and released my second freebie (ever!), a 4×6 brag book QP – by now, almost a week later, it’s been downloaded 594 times. I’m speechless and thrilled at the same time; this is so fun!

The photo above is from Saturday. I didn’t take any photo this day and I’ve decided that when such thing happens I’ll use a photo that fits or that I like, rather than getting holes in my 365 project. Photos matter, but it’s just as important that I do this regular posts. At least that’s my view and I’m sticking to it for this year! :)

by the Christmas tree

Since a colleague of mine was sick I had an extra service at the church where he was supposed to be this Sunday. I brought my dad along to sit by MT since I want to bring MT with me to church. (I’m wondering how much help it is since he’s playing my dad quite a lot lately. Honestly I’d rather have him in the back sitting by himself, playing or drawing or something. But off course then he might come forward to hold my hand or something and I’m a bit worried about how people will react to that. He’s not a loud speaking kid at church, but he has some problems sitting still….).

After church my dad took us out to dinner and then when we got home he wanted to take a photo of MT in front of our Christmas tree to show my mom, since she hasn’t been here since winter kicked in(!) Off course MT had some problems with the concept of keeping still, and I guess my dad’s photo is just as blurry as this one – but it was kind of nice to have him there by the tree like that :D

MT and snow board

Saturday is usually a lazy day at our house. MT watches TV and I sleep in :D A win – win situation ;) We try to spend some time outside as well, so this we did this day too. MT had fun practicing his snow board skills and I walked around taking photos. Too bad it was a little dim in the afternoon, so all of my photos needs to be lighted a bit I think. But this one (above) wasn’t too bad; I love MT’s expression!

carpenter MT

Another early morning, I had a meeting with some fellow youth workers to plan our annual Confirmant night with soccer, games, devotions, concert and more. It’s quite the happening and it takes some planning for sure! After that I went to work trying to fasten the loose ends after our parents meeting last night.

MT have become quite the carpenter lately (due to this Christmas gift from our friends and his good parents). It’s so much fun watching him trying to figure it out and to see a bright smile when he finally is able to get the nail hammered in place :D It’s hard, though, so it’s a steep learning curve.
