Sunday – Week in the Life

Sunday – Week in the Life

Our day started with a sleep in. We both took advantage of that! So much so, on my part, that I had to eat my breakfast in the car as MT and his mates warmed up for their last match of the tournament; I didn’t prioritize time for food while still at home, I’d much rather spend another 10 minutes in bed.

I brought my coffee as well and enjoyed listening to Tsh Oxenreider‘s new book: At home in the world while I waited for the match to begin. A good start too my day.

MT and the boys ended up winning their match 2-0, it was so fun to see they play so well together and I was so busy watching the game + chatting with the other mom’s that I almost forgot to take photos. The one I took isn’t good at all, but it’s what it is. He’s a runner, my kid.

Afterwards MT caught a ride with one pf his friends and headed back home while I went to work.

I had lots to prepare and think through before our service at 5 PM. Each of our 47 youths in this year’s Confirmant class had their own task in the service; some read, some brought in flowers and some knelt during the Kyrie Eleison prayer (and a lot of other small and larger tasks). They all did such a good job, I’m so proud of them.

I was tired by the end of the day. So glad to drive back home knowing that tomorrow is my weekly day off.

I read a few blogs and relaxed after a really busy week, so did MT. I made us some popcorn and we both watched a few videos on You Tube on our different screens.

My seedlings seems to be doing good. I’m afraid I’m a little bit late with both the chili and the tomatoes, but we’ll see. Hoping for some produce this year around. Note to self: keep watering them! Next I have to start the kale, I think I have at least four different kinds that I want to grow this year. #gardeningdreams

Thanks for stopping by my blog. This has been a busy and good week, so glad I have it documented here. Now I have to figure out how to build the album. I’m taking my time though.

Saturday – Week in the Life

Saturday – Week in the Life

Today is MT’s 14th birthday. Hipp, hipp, hurray!
Love watching you grow, learn and evolve kiddo, I’m proud of you and so thankful for our little family!

Today we celebrated with football matches and foam party; he got to spend his day doing what he loves and spending time with good friends – and I got to tag along trying to keep my distance so not to embarrass him too much. Ha.

Such a good, long day. Here is how it went:

Every good day starts with a little Drum Pad playing. And a little bit of time to scroll the social media.

Every good day starts with coffee, today I ate breakfast in the car while waiting for the football match to start.

I’m so glad I got to see this match. The boys worked so hard and played really well together. They won 3-2 over Ham-Kam* G14 which made it even more memorable. (* a Norwegian top notch sports club)

I even got to take a portrait photo of him; that doesn’t happen often these days.

I went home for a little while in-between the two matches, MT stayed with his football mates. I was a little late back again and didn’t see all of the second match, but it did not go as well as their first. A little pep talk in the intermission:

I went for a little walk.

MT and the boys ended up loosing to the other team 2-3. MT got his first yellow penalty card and spent 5 minutes on the bench; he was not too happy about that. Here are two photos from the second half of the match:

Then we went on to a start up gathering for church confirmants in our area. I am at work tonight and MT is going to attend Confirmant classes this coming year, so he was invited. He’s growing up for sure! He wasn’t too glad to have me there, so I promised to stay out of his way as long as he behaved well – and I think it didn’t matter so much once we were there and he was one of the 235 teenagers in the house.

I was one of the crew members, here I’m outside with a colleague checking the area.

We went to fetch some coffee for a few of the crew, once back we found the foam party had started. Lots of foam all over, laughter and high music. A bit too much for me, but perfect for most teenagers. They had lots of fun and I think they will remember this for a long time; and come summer they will meet again at Confirmant Camp. I guess they’ll also will remember the cold water, the wet clothes and how nice it felt to change into something dry before they went back home for some much needed rest and sleep.

The aftermath, so much foamy mess.

We got home around midnight. So, so tired.

I’m so glad I decided to join this project of capturing a week in photos and words. Read much more about this Week in the Life project on Ali Edwards site. And see how her Saturday went.

Friday – Week in the Life

Our day looked like this:

Today was a short work day and I worked from home preparing for this weekend and the week ahead. So much going on right now. I also got some news that made me think. I brought my cup of coffee outside and helped my dad loading grain on the hanger. It was good staying put and not go anywhere.

We had strong wind on and off all day. I put up a new clothes line, but was almost afraid it might tear as the laundry flapped loudly around me.

In the evening there was another football match for MT, this week is filled with football it seems. The team they played was really good and they did not stand a chance, but they worked hard anyway. Before the match started I stayed in the car drinking my coffee, later I went for a little walk around the arena with a audiobook in my ears. It was sunny, but so so cold in the wind.

Our car got clean while we relaxed. I should do this more often, but glad I got it done today.

The sun set as we drove back home.

Sometimes I drink turmeric + tea in the evening. Love the yellow color.

Today I took 21 photos with my dslr camera, 7 of them have you seen above. I didn’t bring my big camera to the match since it rained when we left. I took a few photos with my phone and I included my favorite ones here.

Thanks for stopping by my blog. Hope your day is good!
