out riding my bike; scrap

I loved taking MT to kindergarten by bike and feet, too bad we now live to far away to do that often. I think he loved it too and he felt so big riding his bike on the road and all…. ;)

After a couple of months scrapping I’m hooked. It is soooo fun! You should try it sometime :D

One of the great thing about digital scrapbooking is that there is so much to choose from, come to papers and decoration. I’ve found several wonderful places to search, but one stands out. At Songbird Avenue it is possible both to get and to give! Each month a new beautiful and creative kit comes for sale, and most of the income are passed on to a charity of some kind. What a wonderful idea. :)

This months kit are named Change.

I’ve used it a lot this month, and today I made the above srap for the Scraplift Challenge.

The inspiration for my scraplift I found in Christy Lyle’s scrap page about her daughter, Posing Princess. I loved her blocks of paper behind the photo and my plan was to also use a image with less colors, but well, I love the colors of my photo and made the papers a bit less colorful instead ;)

This month’s new kit from Songbird Avenue is called Endless Summer.

my talents scrappedSongbird Avenue do want to make a difference by creating a new fantastic kit each month, using the best designers, and then giving away most of the income to charity. This month it’s S.A.F.E. house that gets the donation. Since Valerie made us all winners of a gift card, in the contest in late June, I bought the July kit Endless Summer and have been using parts of it for a few scrapbook pages already.

I like the colors of it, the circle shaped elements and the letters :D (to mention but a few… ;) )

On their Songbird Avenue blog there is a scraplifting challenge for July.

We are challenged to scraplift one of the talented designer Dani’s pages using the Endless Summer kit.

Dani have a lot of wonderful scrapbook pages and it was hard to choose, but finally I went for this one that I found in her slide - and started to take a bunch of photos of MT for my lift.

Host unlimited photos at slide.com for FREE!

(Tonight I’ve searched her blog archives for this scrap page, but I haven’t been able to find it, hopefully it’s ok that I used a layout found in the slide and not in one of her blog post…. I love this one with her beautiful and photogenic daughter and her different faces and moods)

This is what I came up with inspired by Dani’s scrap page and the Endless Summer kit:

watch out - pirateI’m having fun scrapbooking. So fun that I forget to eat and almost forgot to get MT home in time from kindergarten…… Ups.

And since I’m all new to this I decided to join a challenge posted by Valerie - off course just for fun - but there are prices ;)

Valerie created a freebie template, Spring Fling, and I came up with this layout with Pirate MT! Not very springy, come to think of it……but, oh, well, the photo is from June 2007. I used another background from Ronna Penner of Scrapadelic.com and spent hours picking out colors(!) Don’t be too hard on me; I’m all new to this 8) (You may follow image link to larger image at Flickr)

This is more addicting than PackRat! Now I’ve started to dream about making scrapbook pages from Ethiopia, where I went to bring MT home from almost 3 yrs ago…..Anyone seen some nice African themed templates around?!
