read outdoorsOne of my goals for this year is to read more books. The last years I’ve logged my books on virtual bookshelves in GoodReader. And slowly (but surely) have the number of books I’ve read risen. This year my goal was to read 45 books. I was a bit worried that it was a bit high. (Last year I barely managed my goal of 40 books.) But. It was not. By mid July I had already accomplished my goal. Wow; I really have been on a reading spell these last months. Much thanks to cheep e-books and my new membership to Audible. Now I can work in the garden while listening to books. I love it, although MT shakes his head when I walk by with a speaker in my pocket instead of earplugs in my ears (I got a bit tired of them there for a while). A few weeks ago I weeded my garden while listening to a book for hours. Win. Win. Win.

Reading Books 2013

I read different changers; some make me laugh, some make my cry, some make me angry and some of them I have trouble finishing for some reason or another. I read light, romantic, suspense, thrillers, faith books, help books, real stories and made up stories. I read to learn, to relax, to be swept off my feet, for the love of storytelling, to regroup and to connect. Some are well told, some are not. Most of them I’ve read by my self, a few have I read (or listened too) together with MT. Click here to see all the books I’ve read this year.

Here are just a few of my recent favorites:

The Handsome Man’s De Luxe CafĂ© (No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency, #15) Organic Manifesto (How Organic Farming Can Heal Our Planet, Feed the World, and Keep Us Safe) The Rosie Project Animal, Vegetable, Miracle (A Year of Food Life) The Irresistible Blueberry Bakeshop & Cafe Notes from a Blue Bike (The Art of Living Intentionally in a Chaotic World) Enchanted, Inc. (Katie Chandler, Book #1) Happiness for Beginners The Island

Do you read books? I’m always eager for new recommendations, please share.
Happy Saturday!
