I didn’t get the house.
I reached my limit - they didn’t.

Too bad, I really liked this house!

We finally left home at around 1:30 pm and after 14 hours we arrived at my parents house tired, but happy. I was worried about the mountain pass, but it was no problem at all. And because of the winter holidays starting this weekend it was a lot of cars everywhere. I took a few (blurry) photos, but sadly all our driving time in the snow was after dark… So I just tell you: it was a winter wonderland

I took some photos, though:

Now we’re enjoying time with our family and MT is outside having fun in the snow with his cousins.

I guess this week will be less updates, sorry, but my parent do not have any broadband and the dial up is sooooo slow!!

Take care :D

Oat grain Today we had the second Bible Sunday in a row, not in the same church, though. Each year the church councils invites the 11 yr olds in our area to come to church and be given a Bible. A lot of them comes and I usually try to make this Sunday service all about the Bible. Most years I’ve had a Bible exhibition of some kind and showed them the book in Greek and Hebrew, and off course old, new, large and small editions in Norwegian. I’ve had a bit of fun finding them all….

But this year I wanted to try another approach, so I decided to make a Bible walk (or what to call it) inside my sermon - it had 4 stations and in every one there where a passage from the Bible (they had to find it themselves in the Bible) and a thing to do, eat or to get. And it worked, today I even got some good and warming words after the service. I’m so glad!! I think I’ll be doing more of this, not every time but every now and then!

This is part of my sermon scripture:

Again Jesus began to teach by the lake. The crowd that gathered around him was so large that he got into a boat and sat in it out on the lake, while all the people were along the shore at the water’s edge. He taught them many things by parables, and in his teaching said: “Listen! A farmer went out to sow his seed. As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path, and the birds came and ate it up. Some fell on rocky places, where it did not have much soil. It sprang up quickly, because the soil was shallow. But when the sun came up, the plants were scorched, and they withered because they had no root. Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up and choked the plants, so that they did not bear grain. Still other seed fell on good soil. It came up, grew and produced a crop, multiplying thirty, sixty, or even a hundred times.”

Mark 4:1-8

DSCF4713 This always makes me think of being a little girl growing up on my parents farm. When I was small enough to have fun making my own paths in the crops hoping my father would not see me (he always did in the end), because I was not allowed to this - not.at.all!! I can still see how the yellow crops swaying in the soft wind.

There is another picture that pops into my head and that is one of my father. Going around in the field throwing his seed out from his kind of a bag-looking thing he has on his stomach holding the unthrown seeds. This is the way farmer has done it since forever and would have still if it where not for the tractors and stuff.

DSCF3671 But when I take a closer look at the text I get stuck with a feeling that this sower is a strange sower. He’s throwing his precious seeds everywhere and it doesn’t seem to bother him. Unlike any framers I’ve known the sower does not care if his seeds are landing in the wrong place. I’m amazed how Jesus takes such a normal situation and makes it into something else. Because Jesus is the sower himself and he throws the words of God out to every man alike, hoping that he can get mankind to listen and discover the greatness of his words and actions. It’s like God do hope that even the stone ground some day will be good soil, ready to produce big harvest.

He he, I just realized it when I got down in the living room:

We got out of bed to early; one hour early !!
Upstairs I’ve been rushing MT to get his clothes on, for kindergarten, or no - so he can watch TV ;)

This isn’t going to happen again anytime soon, so we’ll just enjoy the quiet morning!

fish cup-cake
It’s so funny, my son just LOVES fish. Unlike most kids I know, he’s so happy when that is on the menu. He even want it on his bread instead of jam, chocolate or cheese. I like fish, so I don’t mind. And tonight we got fresh fish from our neighbor. A big (for us, I mean - not for the fisher… hehe) pollack was trusted me. I grew up inlands, so I’m not that good with fish. But finally I managed to cut two okei looking filets….. After we turned them in flour spiced with pepper, chili and salt and then I fried it in butter. It tasted good with potatoes and sour cream. MT ate and ate and ate. He was so happy and told me over and over how good it was.

I love that kid :D

happy free for all friday everyone (well, it’s still thursday here in the states.. but it will be friday soon. :-) )!

i was just thinking. “man.. i can’t think of anything to write” and then i read on someone else’s blog that google had a store!.. and i got GIDDY. i seriously got so excited about some of these tshirts on the store, that i came to the realization that i am a huge computer nerd.

if you don’t believe me, let me also explain that today i spent quite a lot of time making animated .gif’s for NO REASON WHATSOEVER! and not just simple animated .gifs… i took still shots of music videos and created these:

*sigh* i’m a nerd.

o well. i guess there’s worse things to be. :-D

tray, signing off. (go post over at everymoment.org… once friday comes around here in wisconsin :-D )

The boss is out until Monday, the sun is shining, the weather is perfect, and I’m stuck inside, at a desk, with a keyboard attached to my fingers. ‘Spose I should be working instead of blogging, but I just can’t bring myself to do it. Rather reminds me why I started skipping school all those years ago…

I wish we’d get fall weather here. It’s still warm enough to go swimming here in Tampa Bay. Or at least I hope it is, cause I’m taking clients swimming this afternoon in an outdoor pool. (They’re still open here.) Oh how I long for fall weather. Sweater weather.

So. Who said this, and in what movie?

I mean, food’s cool and all. It tastes good and you need it to live, but the mere act of eating involves thoughts of digestion, flatulation, defecation, even, shall we say, complexion defection.

Oh. And I’m Luka and you can ffaf on my blog too! :)

I just can not wait to put my little ones in their get up this year. Children are so precious and I can tell you that the day I first held my son was the day my life was changed forever. There is so much love and it’s unconditional. Congrats!

so here in milwaukee, winter seems to be over anxious, and skipped in line ahead of fall. it went from “hey.. lets have all the windows open and all the fans on to cool down the house” to “AAAARG hand me another blanket… and another.. and another!” and while wisconsin usually gets cold, it does get colder in places further north. yes.. that much is true. but wisconsinites tend to be pretty hard-core when it comes to being able to survive in winter weather. but the other day i was out to eat with a friend and i saw two, yes TWO, people in winter coats! i turned to my friend and was like “uhh.. what month is it?” “september” “ok. just checkin’.” and i guess the funniest part of that was that one of the girls in the winter coats, was wearing flip-flops! *shakes head* i just don’t understand people.

hope everyone has a fantastic fall/winter (or spring, if you are in the southern hemisphere). tray signing off. (btw. go free-for-all-it on everymoment.org!)

Well October is tomorrow… well, in two days for me, tomorrow for you. I like fall, when it is actually fall and not summer and not winter.

The leaves on the trees change and the weather is more bearable. There are many parties in the fall it seems. Everyone wants to get together for a bonfire or a hayride. Those are always fun but hard to do when you’ve got a little kid. But time will pass too soon…

I’m not a mother, nor do I ever plan on becoming one, but now that I’ve been out of the virtual hell known as adolescence for awhile, I can say that, while your child may not always like the choices you make for her, she’ll understand them better when she gets older.

She’ll also realize that you don’t know everything - even if you claim differently - so stay on the up-and-up about that. Being stubborn won’t get you anywhere. Being understanding will.

Good luck with your new baby! I hope you get to meet her soon!

Oh what joys! First I am so happy for you, second… good luck. The age two is stressful. LOL. My daughter is going to be three soon and I can not wait. The terrible two’s really got to me with her. My son was not that bad, good thing he wasn’t or I would have stopped at one.

Patience is my best advice and watch what you say or do. Little ears and eyes absorbe so much. Best wishes.

Good advice is hard to come by… let’s see what I can come up with on short notice ;-)

Take lots of pictures, as he grows your brain will have a hard time remembering him being so little.

Always have some cold and headache/fever reducer medicine on hand.

This won’t apply to you getting a 2 year old, but don’t give them a pacifier unless you have to.

Let them do the things they enjoy, don’t force trucks as toys because he’s a boy or don’t force dolls if you’ve a girl.

From the moment they’re born, children struggle to become independent individuals. Encourage that, but don’t force it.

I’ll have to think of more later :)

Well, I don’t get to travel so much anymore, not that I ever really did before. Tomorrow, well, today, we are going on a little boat trip with my extended family, my mom’s side. It’s not far away but far enough away that I have to get up early and here I am fooling around. Oh well, we didn’t even get home tonight until about midnight. I hope I can get up in about 4 or 5 hours to go!!! :P

Have a good Saturday and Sunday, Anne :)
