The weekend a couple of weeks ago MT and I went to MT’s very first Church Camp. I’ve been wanting to introduce this to him for a while since I myself had so much fun going to camp every summer when I was child and teenager. But there isn’t many camps for the youngest that’s not Family Camp, and I didn’t want that. Finally I found that at Fjordglimt campsite there was a MiniCamp in the middle of June. So we went!
We are planning to drive back home today. But what mountain pass to chose? Seems like most of them are closed because of the weather
Sadly I have work tomorrow or else I would have asked if we please could spend another night at our friends. We might have to drive all the way south to the Stavanger area, before heading east and north again… That is the long way home!
Wish me luck
We’ve had a wonderful time with friends, though. Glad to be here with them again after months away from them. ![]()
MT visited his old kindergarten for 2,5 hours yesterday. He had fun and I think it was nice for him to discover that they hadn’t forgotten him and that they missed him as he have missed them…. He was a bit surprised when he discovered that someone else had his place, even though that was a given with the waiting list to get in and all!
It got so quiet here.
My friends have had all their children at home and a few girlfriends as well. For the first time, since MT and E jumped into my bed to wake me up this morning, it’s only me and MT around. But not for long, off course.
The others went out to help the daughter’s boyfriend with some car trouble….
Today we’ve been here in the house. MT spent some time outside in the rain playing with E, but I haven’t been tempted to be outside more than a couple of short trips to the car. I’m not that found of the rain. E was brought here by his mother and it was nice to have some time catching up with her as well.
Now MT look forward to visit his old kindergarten tomorrow or on Tuesday, I plan to visit my old place of work and to spend some more time with our friends here. Tuesday afternoon the plan is to go and see our other friends a few kilometers north of here and spend some days with them as well. This is a vacation after my heart = time with friends and a slow pace!
It’s been 4 months since we left this place. In a way it feels like a lifetime ago, since our life now is so different at our new place. In a way it feels like last week because not much has changed here, my friends are still here, I’m borrowing the same bed and the rain is still poring down like always
It’s good to be back, though, and MT is happy. This is as far as he is concern our home and tonight he told me that the current pastor couldn’t live in our (old) house. And, off course, he was not allowed to have mommy’s job either.
Now I don’t want my old job back, nor the old house; I’m quite happy with our new life, new house and my new job. Even the snow all over the place makes me happy, much happier than rain ever could make me…. Off course I miss my friends and it’s wonderful to see them again!! I look forward to see more of them over the next few days! And I understand MT’s joy over being here and wish he can bring back with him the knowledge that his old friends still are his friends and that we always can go back here and meet them; at least once a year.
Here he is enjoying a slice of bread in the middle of the night. He could not go to bed hungry not matter how late we arrived
Or, so he told me ![]()
We’re going west for our winter break. Looking forward to that, it’s been a while since we last saw them and we miss our good friends there. It will be good to see the fjord and the ferries too, it surprises me that I don’t miss them more than I do; at the time they seemed to be such a big part of our everyday life.
MT is looking forward to visit the kindergarten that he still reckons as his, even though we’ve lived here for a little while now and he has a new kindergarten right here that he likes to be in. Hopefully it’ll be more fun than sad to visit the old. Hopefully it’ll be good to get some closure and also good for him to see that the friends he had there still remember him as he does them
Now I just have to figure when we are going and also make sure that this blog domain still is up when we return. Think there is a renewal right around the corner, the past two years I forgot - so this time I better pay attention!
I promised my self to be in bed before midnight - have to run
Oh, and I almost forgot: HAPPY VALENTINE! Love you ![]()
I’m sitting here in the house of my friends. It’s quiet. Only me and MT at home, the rest of the house is out at school and work. MT is playing nicely by him self and I’ve been online for a while, reading a bit and ordering some new clothes from an online store. Mostly I’ve enjoyed the quietness of the house.
It’s wonderful to be here, though. I haven’t seen my friends in about 3 yr time, the children have grown so much - it’s good to get to know them again; only the two oldest can remember me from way back
I’ve spent a lot of time with them for several years when I and the man in the house were studying at the seminar (he’s also a pastor), they’ve feed me a million times and I’ve baby sat the children a lot (I loved doing that). I was as part of the furniture and they were my family away from home. I know many things have changed over the years we’ve lived far from each other, but I still feel so much a part of the family and welcome here. MT does to!! It’s good and I hope to see them a bit more often than every 3rd or 4th year from now on.
Today I was supposed to go to town and do a bit of souvenir shopping, but the weather is so windy and gray that I’m not up to it just yet
It’s fun to get to feel a tiny bit of the wild weather that I know sometimes “land” here. Not that this is much wild, though
See you around. And remember, here I email some photos from our vacation; so jump on over!!
Just wanted to pop in and tell that we’re having a wonderful time
MT has even become friends with some of the kids here after playing outside the kindergarten this evening. Too bad my cousin is moving down south or this could be a good place to visit each summer. It’s not hot weather here at the moment, thouhg, so not so much summer. But that’s not our reason for being here either. On Firday we’re traveling farther north east to visit some friends there and be a part of their son’s confirmation. Looking forward to that!!
Will update on my vox, so jump over there ![]()
We’re on vacation. At the time being with my parents and back home where I grew up, but tomorrow we’re heading up north, far north!
We’re going to visit some friends of mine, I haven’t seen them for ages so I’m really looking forward to it.
The plane leave tomorrow mid-day and we’re not back here again for two weeks (then my work also is waiting for me to return, so I’ll better do).
Yippi; vacation is fun!!
Since I’m able to use my cell phone to update my vox blog of I’m going to try and update daily or at least every second day. So go there and see what I see on my trip to the northern part of Norway!
So; see you later!! (at least at vox
)
