tired
This is just how I feel today!

The weekend was busy, nice, tiering, emotional, sad, good, memorable and giving. I spent most of it with 24 fantastic young people. They started the yearlong journey as a Confirmant in our church. It was so nice getting to know them a little, but also sad because this was the only thing I would do together with them. This week I only have two days left at work and then I’m finished with my work here as a youth pastor. In a month or so I start as pastor (of the regular kind) someplace else. It’s sad to be leaving the young people here behind, but I also have so much to look forward to in my new job (and I’m not going to stop working with and for the youths in church; thankfully!).

I took a few photos and as soon as I have them uploaded to flickr I’ll show you a few. Untill then some lunch and more coffee for me!! Have a wonderful Monday!

my clogs

A few years ago I loved being awake at night. I didn’t mind at all. Now it’s different, I want to sleep now – or at least know that I can sleep longer in the morning when I’m a bit late in bed.

I planned to sleep longer today. But at 7 am MT jumped into my bed ready for the day to begin, he’s been doing this for a week or so, the sun and light wakes him up early now that spring is closing in on us. He wasn’t allowed to get up, I  told him that our day did not start until 8 am. He wasn’t happy and I didn’t sleep much more -  and then we had move on and leave for preschool and work.

Now I’m sitting here, so tired, thinking about how I’m going to survive the night staying awake with the youths. We’re having a night happening for the confirmants from our church and a few other churches in the area. I think we are going to be about 200 youths. Awake. All night. Oh, my, I just feel how tired I’m going to be….. But off course, it is going to be seriously fun as well and my parents are looking after MT so I can get some sleep when I’m back home tomorrow morning. I look forward to that ;)

I’m bringing my trusty clogs with me, so I can walk (almost) all night…. Come to think of it, I bought them a year ago for this same kind of event. I call them friends – they saves my back!!

I guess I’m just getting old. Give me some sympathy will you??!! LOL.

spor_tru I’ve made this logo for the whole Confirmant Program of the year 2008-2009. We are on the track of Faith (track mainly because we are going to camp in January/February using the railway – and off course because it fits with our main goal).

spor_GudTogether with the youths we are going to search for answers to who Jesus was and is, what God is all about and if this has anything to do with them and their life (to put it shortly….).

Hopefully they will find that they are loved by God and hopefully they will find something to build their life upon.  My main goal is to show them that Faith matters and that they are important and valuable in Gods eyes and plan.

This first month we are going on the track of God. And I kind off like this logo better than the other one ;) so we might be on this track for a while…. No, I’m kidding, but there might be some revisions for the left one some day.

Edit: now I only have 1 problem…. kind off

I’m planning a big Confirmant-year opening this weekend. So far I think there is 16 youths that have joined in. This weekend we are going to get to know each other and their parents/family is also invited to a bit of it. Hopefully the weather will hold so we can barbecue by the church as planned :D

There is, at this point, only two one problems:

  1. I can’t find any adults that wants to spend the night with us, I don’t know of anybody to ask either. :( And even though the youths might be nice and all, I really would want us to be 2 adult present.
  2. There is, off course, a soccer cup this weekend and many of the youths would rather be there.

Now I’m tossing and turning to find a way to make this weekend happen. Or else we might have to cansel the sleeping over part, and I so don’t want that! This year I plan to have a course for the “old” confirmants to teach them how to be a camp leader, so that might help in the long term run of things. But in the short term there is so few to choose from!

The farm; apples
These apples remind me of taking time to let things grow……

Right now I’m home doing a bit of house keeping, soon I’ll head down to the office for a short while to send some mail and try to figure out how to make a email newspaper. ;) Please help me if you know how!
