Checking The Weather

I feel like I’ve spent most of the weekend in church (or planning for church services). It really is a bit much when there is a service both Saturday and Sunday and when the week was so filled with events as it was,as well. Sometimes I get a little tired, to be honest, but still (and thankfully) there is many things to be grateful for on this day too (Sunday). Although we did not get to home cook  a fancy dinner together, at least we spent the Sunday together as a family. And MT was happy to have a quiet day where he could draw some more awesome drawings – I am so thankful for his love of drawing! – and be outside playing some football (soccer).

First a little note on the prompts and the way I use them:
The last few days I’ve stayed a bit off of Katerina’s prompt for the day, but I’m seriously inspired by them and like to use them as my starting point as I get her newsletter in the mail each morning. And if you haven’t seen her newsletter (it’s all renewed for this moth! Love it.) – you should take a look at the issue for Sunday here.

This Sunday I want to use the prompt from Saturday; a word I am thankful for.

I am thankful for my one little word of the year: FAITH.

Thankful For My One Little Word | Nov. 6-2011

I am thankful for the way it have made my belief in God, in my self and in others a priority in my life. I am thankful for the way it has pushed me to try and make a difference, daring to take chances I would not have taken before. I’m still going baby steps, but I am moving closer to the me I want to be and the life I want to live. One little word really do matter.

What are you thankful for today?

…………………….
This is the sixth post in a series of Thankful post for the month of November 2011. I use the prompts from Katrina Kennedy’s November Photo Idea List as a starting off point and find at least one thing I am grateful for each and every day. If you want to play along please share your thoughts in the comments or link us up to your blog.

embrace (2)

On New Years Eve I found a new word for the new year (her is a little bit about my word for 2009). It’s kind of nice to have this one little word to think about and grow into for one whole year and I love the idea. I first got it from Ali Edwards, but I’m also inspired with the way Janet Philips approached it this year.

My own little word for 2010?

embrace

EMBRACE.

(I wish I had a scrapbook page to show off, but it’ll be here here eventually.) This year I’m embracing the good, the bad, the ugly and all in between. Embrace how my life is, how my day is – and I don’t want be tougher on myself than necessary; embracing that I don’t manage to do it all, but still embrace the trying. I want to practice thinking good about my self and to approach life with a positive attitude. I want to embrace the good in us moving to a new place and me starting a new job, as well as embrace the hurt and bad feelings from where we’ve been the last couple of years and slowly leave it behind.

In short: I want to be present in the here and now. I want to do my best, but not doing it all at once. This year I’m EMBRACING life!

I’ve done a lot of thinking, feeling and being present lately. And all this focus on embracing (and a few other things too, to be honest), made me too tired to even thinking about blogging for a couple of months. It just felt a bit too overwhelming. I’m getting around to starting, though. The last month I’ve been writing out blogposts in my mind again – and today I knew it was about time to start typing those thoughts up – getting my words out here again.

A lot have happened during the first months of this year, and I don’t even dare to promise to tell you anything about it. But I have lived and my kid has grown into an almost 7 year old.I’m just going to embrace that I’m back here again and that it feels good – like talking to an old dear friend(!)

On another note. Have I told you how much I like having a spell checker? A LOT!! :)

Keep enjoying life and the weekend(!), we have had some sun today! And I’m off to play some meaningless, but still fun, games at facebook. I would love it if you join me ;) And after that, and some sleep and maybe a few days of procrastination I’ll be back and change the heading to something spriny – and maybe find a new blog wear?!? We’ll see :)
