Saturday I snapped a few photos during a half an hour (or so) break outside. I tried to capture the feeling of the every day life’s blessings. I tried to capture the happiness of the small things. I loved how it felt playful at the same time as meaningful. I’ve been working on and off with these photos (and words about them) ever since. And now I’m ready to share them with you. (If you want to read a little bit about each of the photos you can head over to my Flickr steam or the Simple Things photo set, I also made a layout with the above photo and you can find it at Flickr as well: This Photo | The Story).
I really have so much to be grateful for in my life. I only have to remember to look for it + dare to play a little to catch it. It helps to slow down the pace a little as well.
Good luck hunting for happiness. I don’t thing we’ll ever have too much of that stuff, so be on the look out every day. I sure will.

It’s my 3rd go @ the simple things, I love the idea of this.
I hope I can keep it a regular thing on Mondays.
My plan was to join in on all the challenges Shimelle put up for the Scrapbook Day last week, with a few digital pages. But my time didn’t stretch as wide as I wished. But here are my two contributions that I had some fun making. One layout. One photo edit.
The yellow flower is really a weed in my garden. I love how beautiful it is when you get up close. For this edit I really like how the darker, more bluish background made the flowers pop. Here is the original:
I was also inspired by the forth challenge, about the telling the story behind the photo – and this was what I made:

I’m not entirely sure why, but this photo speaks volumes to me. Maybe it’s the memory of so many times I’ve been with MT down by the lake or the fjord, watching him throw rocks out in the water? Maybe it’s the independent way he moves around, happy to have me there but don’t need my help or guides any more? Maybe it’s because finally, after many hours doing youth work in church, I got a chance to sit down eat a pizza with my favorite boy and enjoy the outdoors on this fantastic warm spring day? Or maybe it’s all of the above. Mixed together somehow.
For I know it’s not the purse, that is an okay enough thing and I like it. But not enough to make this about it. I think it’s all about the boy down by the lake – I can’t tell how much I love him. This afternoon it’s finally all about him and me, right now nothing else competes for my attention. (written 10. April 2011)
Sometimes I feel that a photo need a scrapbook page of it’s very own, even when it was part of an event that I already have scrapbooked. I know there are different approaches to this, but I love to use my favorite photos several times – documenting more than one aspects of the story. I could off course make a double page spread, including both the event itself and the feelings or/and my thoughts about it, but I like the pages to not look the same so each of them can stand alone. (I will show you the other page I made later; since I’m on the team @ the daily digi I get to play with the digi files one month early and I used them for the second page. Check out The Digi Game here).
Do you approach this like me, or do you have another method?
Happy Scrappy Saturday!

I’ve been thinking about entering the contest of I ♥ faces for a while. Finally I just did it
The challenge for this week is to present a photo with a face and some SHADES. I just knew I had a few photos of MT from when he was around 3 years old sporting some shades, looking cool. Thankfully I found them!
And above is my favorite and the entry for the contest. Below are the runner up
You can read more about this weeks entries in this and this post.
….or something like that.
I wanted to write a post earlier, but I wasn’t able to log into the blogs dashboard on my PC. Due to a paper hiding somewhere unknown to me. (These last couple of weeks have really been a period where things I need get lost – or hidden. Frustrating.)
Anyhow, I just wanted to let you in on my latest photo project. I’m doing well; and have so much fun! shaking up a poloarid on my iPhone each day. I know they aren’t the best photos, but using the camera that I have with me almost everywhere sure capture a few more moments while they are happening.
No need for: hold that smile till I come back with the camera or do it again so I can get it documented. Oh, well, I still say it sometimes, but that is only because sometimes I want to gave the possibility of printing a huge photo of my kiddo
O.k. I’ll be back with more later. But if you can’t wait for it, last weeks photos are all up on my Flicker (see sidebar for link).
See you around!
I’ve been a bit unsatisfied with the camera on my iPhone. I just couldn’t get it to take good photos on a regular basis. So I almost never used it. Even though I carried the phone with me far more often than my other big camera (especially during our cold winter…).
That was until I tired a few of the many photo apps for iPhone.
I’ve had so much fun today, and even thought it cost me a few bucks – it was well worth it (and I really could not buy ice cream this week anyhow).
Now I plan on using the camera on hand more often, so nice to capture the moments when it happens.
So far my favorite app are: ShakeIt Photo (I just love the sounds it makes; and yes, I’m easily amused) I also like CameraBag and Best Camera and look forward to explore more later. Here are a few more photos I shot today:
Do you have a favorite app?
I’m looking through a few of my archive posts – and I found this posted on August 20. 2007
I just love being reminded not to weed my garden. Ha ha.
I’ve just made a new photo book with my latest scrapbook pages. I wanted to add some black and white photos as well and in the process I decided to add some word art to each of them. This was fun!! I can’t wait to see the result. If good, I’ll share
The photo above is from Christmas Eve, my dad and my son are good friends.
Life has been pretty busy lately, but we are good. Now I’m ready for work after enjoying a cup of coffee and some blog reading….. And as I write this, sitting in my kitchen, I look at our elk grassing in the field above our house. I say our because he’s a regular guest by now. He’s a young fellow, out on his own for the first time, not sure when to be scared of people. I guess he’ll learn to flee when MT is outside, but I’m watching him; even young he’s a big fella. He is a beauty though, and right now I don’t want to go out and scare him away. But I have to – work is waiting.
I might need some more coffee………….
A few more photo from our decorating-the-christmas-tree-day on December 23rd. Just had to share, I might do a scrap later – but first some sleep, then some other chores – then we’ll see
This year we got a tree from my dad’s forest; the tree he rejected for his own house, by the way. I love trees that have some flaws, it makes better stories!! (One of these days I have to scan in a photo of my most crappy tree ever – that was a seriously crocked tree; we still tell stories about it, every year!!)
That’s all for now
Good night!!
A late, but warm wish to you from me! MERRY CHRISTMAS!
The photo is from our Christmas Eve and my mom’s Christmas tree. I’ve edited it a bit; loved that brightly colored Christmas decoration and wanted the surroundings to be less bright so I added a sepia layer and did some erasing….
The gift in the background was the largest gift under our tree – and the first one my kid decided to open. No surprise there – LOL. He loved what was inside it, though, and we both had a wonderful Christmas celebration at my parents place.
Hope you enjoy the holidays!
Hugs
