My December Daily album is slowly worked on when ever I can find a few spare moments. I’m feeling a little bit whiped out right now, but hoping a little sleep and a loong day at work tomorrow will get me back in the groove.

I just wanted to share a few photos from the last few days. One of these days I’ll share the album as well, but I need some decent light and some time in the middle of the day to shot photos of the pages first. I think it is this that makes me love digi so much. But then I love the making of an album from scratch also, with traditional papers and glue.

Enjoy the Season!!

I went for a little walk yesterday and brought my camera.

I’ve really not been okay saying farewell to summer, but now as September is here I feel that I’m ready to embrace the new season approaching. Yesterday I tried to find the beauty in the changes.

Thankfully it was a warm and sunshiny day, after so much rain in August it felt almost as a relief. I guess we have more rain coming, but just now I want to enjoy this new month and the new season. Hoping for good things to happen.

O.k. I admit it. I’ve been trying out a few different approaches on the 365-project side of things, and I haven’t been absolutely perfect in any of them. But I’ve still had some fun and learned a whole lot about me, photographing and blogging. So I’m not afraid to try it ONE MORE time This time I’m using my handy with-me-to-almost-all-places-camera; my cell phone. It doesn’t take super good photos,  but this is about preserving memories from each day and not about capturing images for wall hanging…. or so I tell myself I’m using the ShakeIt app for iPhone to turn my photos into Polaroid (mostly because it’s fun to shake the phone and for the most amazing sound it makes… hehe). To make the photos more alike (kind off), I’m planning to use this approach for the next year. I might change my mind later, but I can live with that. I’m kind of used to being me by now and I love to change it all up from time to time. So I’m not making any promises…

Playing a bit catch-up here, but her is the third week of the project – with photos and a few words:

He got to take his bike to school in the evening. A few parents gathered to help clean up the place after fall and winter. We call it dugnad. And there is usually some cake  (May 11th-2010)

It was late before MT could play his online games. We had to clean and tidy up our house before our guests arrived. They came a quarter past midnight. MT greeted them by the door – so happy to see them. Then he went to sleep – seriously tired. (May 12th-2010)

A beautiful day with lots of sunshine. Relaxed and laid back after some really busy days. I even had time to play some outdoor sports with MT in the afternoon. Sweet! (May 14th-2010)

MT got bored today so we played a few card games in the afternoon. Too bad mummy won 3 of 4 of them.  (May 15th-2010)

We drove by my Grandparents old house today. I wanted to show MT where his great grandma lived when I was a kid. I have so many good memories from this place. It used to be ocher yellow and the garage is new. (The current house owners were looking at me standing by their driveway, so I only took a snapshot before we moved on.) Glad to have captured some memories anyway  (May 16th-2010)

Celebrating our national day. Great fun (no matter how grumpy he looks in the photo..)! MT loved being there with his class mates, after the procession there were games to play and ice cream to eat. (May 17th-2010)

A while ago MT planted a few sunflower seeds. Finally we got them into proper pots. It’s still a while before we can plant them out. Wonder if they’ll survive… (May 4th-2010)

We had some time walking home from soccer practice. We went down to the lake. And MT got to throw a few stones in to the water – and I got to snap a few pictures. Loving the afternoon light. (May 5th-2010)

I only took one photo today. Or, honestly, I took a bunch but with my big camera… MT got to hang out with the youths tonight, he love to do that and the youths are so kind to him and lets him join them when playing games. Nice! (May 6th-2010)

He was so proud of himself for only using one hand while riding his bike. I was more interesting in the sun rays and how his hand and they [almost] met…. (May 7th-2010)

I went by to help my dad some more at the farm. This time I got the honor of driving our old blue ford. It has no windshield, so it was windy – but not as dusty as I thought it would be. While I was working the field I listened to a couple of podcast from my favorite scrapbook show: the paperclipping roundtable. Got to love multitasking work and hobby…. (May 8th-2010)

We celebrated my nepiew’s Confirmation today. A beautiful day together with family. MT was proud to put on his new Ethiopian Folk Suit and told me: Now I feel like a real African. (May 9th-2010)

We went to the farm to help with the farming again. MT was happy to bring the class teddy Oskar along. They even got to sit in his uncle’s truck. So much fun (May 10th-2010)

It was MT’s own idea to stand like this. I love the colors and the feel of it. I took a few photos this day, but this is my Favorite with a big F. I had fun exploring our home and garden with the new apps for iPhone, trying out a few different versions – but settling on ShakeIt app for the 365-project. Another warm and beautiful day. Crazy how the weather changes from a day to another. I went to a meeting with the other pastors in our area. On my way back home I just had to stop by this mountain lake and snap a few images. Wish I had my big camera with me, though, this could make for a good big photo on the wall…. When I returned I met two Confirmant groups in two different churches and had rehearsals for the coming Confirmation services. It still amazes me how different the youths reacts to church and faith. I’m both intrigued and worried about it, but mostly it makes me want to learn more about what they believe in and share my belief with them even more. (April 29th-2010)

He was so proud. And loved sitting with Grandpa in the tractor. Looking forward to see him learn what farming is all about, watching Grandpa work is a good beginning as well is getting into the action… MT was at the farm from Saturday to Sunday so I could fully concentrate on the big Confirmation services ahead. Yay. I got the flag up. All by my self. A little proud of that. A beautiful day, both people-wise and weather-wise. In the evening we visited some friends of my parents for coffee. Nice that as well (May 2nd-2010)

I’m so glad I finally got to help my dad at the farm, if only a little. Driving the tractor up and down harrowing the field. I wish I could help him more. MT found courage in himself to go down and get to know one of my parents neighboring kids – and had a lots of fun playing soccer and jumping on their trampoline. A good day (May 3rd-2010)

Photos from yesterday. It was a mighty nice and beautiful day of rest and quiet. I even took my bike out of the garage and brought MT home from school on it.

He was so happy (he love riding on the bike with me – and it’s almost all downhill from his school so it’s easy for me as well) – and I got some fresh air and a bit exercise as well.

When we got back home I brought my camera and went down to the mailbox on foot to capture some fall shoots. MT joined me riding his bike. Nice

We’ve had so few sunny day this summer (we’ve had some, but according to me: not enough!) – so this sunny September is highly appreciated!!

There is something fresh and crisp with fall sunny days. And it’s easy to catch a cold too, because the weather really isn’t that warm(!) In the morning it’s been only 4-5 degrees above zero (Centigrade). And that is cold enough to wear a thick jacket if you ask me (and not MT). Hoping it’s stays above zero for a few more week… although I long too shoot macros of  the deep orange and red leafs too (and usually we need some nights with frost to get those colors in the leafs).

I’ll miss summer – I really love that season and the ease of life; but now I’m ready to embrace fall season – hoping for more sun than rain, though

I’m glad MT did find school fun and engaging, can’t wait to hear what  he have to tell when he’s back home from school tomorrow – his second day of school  (they have Tuesday off since they are at school full day even in 1. grade, since we live in rural area this is better than to organize buses to drive to and from school more than once a day….). ..and then we went to the store to buy him a knife that he’s alowed to bring on Thursdays when they have school outside in the woods. I love that he gets to learn such skills – and have band age ready…. I guess there will be more about this later. Night!

A few more photo from our decorating-the-christmas-tree-day on December 23rd. Just had to share, I might do a scrap later – but first some sleep, then some other chores – then we’ll see This year we got a tree from my dad’s forest; the tree he rejected for his own house, by the way. I love trees that have some flaws, it makes better stories!! (One of these days I have to scan in a photo of my most crappy tree ever – that was a seriously crocked tree; we still tell stories about it, every year!!)
