O.k. I admit it. I’ve been trying out a few different approaches on the 365-project side of things, and I haven’t been absolutely perfect in any of them. But I’ve still had some fun and learned a whole lot about me, photographing and blogging. So I’m not afraid to try it ONE MORE time ;) This time I’m using my handy with-me-to-almost-all-places-camera; my cell phone. It doesn’t take super good photos,  but this is about preserving memories from each day and not about capturing images for wall hanging…. or so I tell myself ;) I’m using the ShakeIt app for iPhone to turn my photos into Polaroid (mostly because it’s fun to shake the phone and for the most amazing sound it makes… hehe). To make the photos more alike (kind off), I’m planning to use this approach for the next year. I might change my mind later, but I can live with that. I’m kind of used to being me by now and I love to change it all up from time to time. So I’m not making any promises…

Playing a bit catch-up here, but her is the sixth week of the project – with photos and a few words:

Lama

~~~ 36/365 ~~~
On our way back from the football (soccer) matches this week. We drove by this farm with lots of Lamas. I think they are the coolest animal, and I’m so glad to finally just stop and take a little photo. (June 1th-2010)
~~~~~~~~~~~~

Canoe

~~~ 37/365 ~~~
I wish I was out there on the tiny lake in the canoe. It’s so much fun, and it’s been far too long since last time!! (June 2nd-2010)
~~~~~~~~~~~~

Lilac

~~~ 38/365 ~~~
I brush by this bushes everyday on my way to and from the office. The smell makes me stop and smell it once more. Love it. And the blue sky makes me happy too. Bright shiny early summer day. (June 3rd-2010)
~~~~~~~~~~~~

Cool Skies

~~~ 39/365 ~~~
Today I learned something new that makes me really happy!
MT went to visit some friends from school. When I went to get him home I was invited on cake. So nice. We stayed into the late evening, enjoying the company. Nice to get to know new friends. When we finally were able to pack our selfs out of there we saw this fantastics clouds in the sky. Loving how the sun gives it gloving stripes. (June 4th-2010)
~~~~~~~~~~~~

Bare Feet

~~~ 40/365 ~~~
For a while there I got to be bare feet in the grass. Loving the summer feeling. Have really been enjoying the warm summer weather as of lately.
Had my first wedding in the stave church. (June 5th-2010)
~~~~~~~~~~~~

Me

~~~ 41/365 ~~~
Me in the mirror. That’s a thing I like to do from time to time.
I had two services this day. One in the stave church – and then one in the afternoon at our local church. It pretty much took all day, but I got time to play a little with MT and ate some delicious dinner ;) (June 6th-2010)
~~~~~~~~~~~~

Mogeno

~~~ 42/365 ~~~
In the early afternoon MT ran over to our neighboors to see if anyone wanted to jump in the trampoline with him. He soon came back and told me that he had no time for jumping, he had to watch a show at our school with E. Mogeno. I had completely forgotten all about it, and even though I mostly felt like staying home the rest of the evening, I knew he’d love the show. So we did. And he loved it. Mores surprisingly; so did I. (June 7th-2010)
out biking
~~~ 15/365 ~~~

He got to take his bike to school in the evening. A few parents gathered to help clean up the place after fall and winter. We call it dugnad. And there is usually some cake ;)  (May 11th-2010)

~~~~~~~~~~~~
Late night gaming
~~~ 16/365 ~~~

It was late before MT could play his online games. We had to clean and tidy up our house before our guests arrived. They came a quarter past midnight. MT greeted them by the door – so happy to see them. Then he went to sleep – seriously tired. (May 12th-2010)

~~~~~~~~~~~~
Playing Catch the Ball
~~~ 17/365 ~~~

Enjoying company and the new football :D
We [finally] celebrated MT’s birthday with family and friends. (May 13th-2010)

~~~~~~~~~~~~
Stair case
~~~ 18/365 ~~~

A beautiful day with lots of sunshine. Relaxed and laid back after some really busy days. I even had time to play some outdoor sports with MT in the afternoon. Sweet! (May 14th-2010)

~~~~~~~~~~~~
Double faced...
~~~ 19/365 ~~~

MT got bored today so we played a few card games in the afternoon. Too bad mummy won 3 of 4 of them. ;)  (May 15th-2010)

~~~~~~~~~~~~
Down memory line
~~~ 20/365 ~~~

We drove by my Grandparents old house today. I wanted to show MT where his great grandma lived when I was a kid. I have so many good memories from this place. It used to be ocher yellow and the garage is new. (The current house owners were looking at me standing by their driveway, so I only took a snapshot before we moved on.) Glad to have captured some memories anyway ;)  (May 16th-2010)

~~~~~~~~~~~~
Celebrating
~~~ 21/365 ~~~

Celebrating our national day. Great fun (no matter how grumpy he looks in the photo..)! MT loved being there with his class mates, after the procession there were games to play and ice cream to eat. (May 17th-2010)

Sunflowers Growing Here

~~~ 8/365 ~~~
A while ago MT planted a few sunflower seeds. Finally we got them into proper pots. It’s still a while before we can plant them out. Wonder if they’ll survive… (May 4th-2010)
~~~~~~~~~~~~

Splash

~~~ 9/365 ~~~
We had some time walking home from soccer practice. We went down to the lake. And MT got to throw a few stones in to the water – and I got to snap a few pictures. Loving the afternoon light. (May 5th-2010)
~~~~~~~~~~~~

Youths, MT and a stave church

~~~ 10/365 ~~~
I only took one photo today. Or, honestly, I took a bunch but with my big camera… MT got to hang out with the youths tonight, he love to do that and the youths are so kind to him and lets him join them when playing games. Nice! (May 6th-2010)
~~~~~~~~~~~~

one hand

~~~ 11/365 ~~~
He was so proud of himself for only using one hand while riding his bike. I was more interesting in the sun rays and how his hand and they [almost] met…. (May 7th-2010)
~~~~~~~~~~~~

Old Blue

~~~ 12/365 ~~~
I went by to help my dad some more at the farm. This time I got the honor of driving our old blue ford. It has no windshield, so it was windy – but not as dusty as I thought it would be. While I was working the field I listened to a couple of podcast from my favorite scrapbook show: the paperclipping roundtable. Got to love multitasking work and hobby…. (May 8th-2010)
~~~~~~~~~~~~

Detail; Ethiopian Folk Suit

~~~ 13/365 ~~~
We celebrated my nepiew’s Confirmation today. A beautiful day together with family. MT was proud to put on his new Ethiopian Folk Suit and told me: Now I feel like a real African. (May 9th-2010)
~~~~~~~~~~~~

Truck Driving

~~~ 14/365 ~~~
We went to the farm to help with the farming again. MT was happy to bring the class teddy Oskar along. They even got to sit in his uncle’s truck. So much fun :D (May 10th-2010)
Thinking MT
~~~ 1/365 ~~~

It was MT’s own idea to stand like this. I love the colors and the feel of it. I took a few photos this day, but this is my Favorite with a big F. I had fun exploring our home and garden with the new apps for iPhone, trying out a few different versions – but settling on ShakeIt app for the 365-project. We had some warm comfy sunny weather this day. (April 27th-2010)

~~~~~~~~~~~~
Rain Drops
~~~ 2/365 ~~~

This was a cold and wet day, so different from yesterday! On the way back home I captured the rain on my windshield. (April 28th-2010)

~~~~~~~~~~~~
Red Boat
~~~ 3/365 ~~~

Another warm and beautiful day. Crazy how the weather changes from a day to another. I went to a meeting with the other pastors in our area. On my way back home I just had to stop by this mountain lake and snap a few images. Wish I had my big camera with me, though, this could make for a good big photo on the wall…. When I returned I met two Confirmant groups in two different churches and had rehearsals for the coming Confirmation services. It still amazes me how different the youths reacts to church and faith. I’m both intrigued and worried about it, but mostly it makes me want to learn more about what they believe in and share my belief with them even more. (April 29th-2010)

~~~~~~~~~~~~
Big Grin 3
~~~ 4/365 ~~~

I love this guy. And his BIG smile. I love him when he’s not smiling too. (April 30th-2010)

~~~~~~~~~~~~
Driving Tractor with a Big Smile
~~~ 5/365 ~~~

He was so proud. And loved sitting with Grandpa in the tractor. Looking forward to see him learn what farming is all about, watching Grandpa work is a good beginning as well is getting into the action… MT was at the farm from Saturday to Sunday so I could fully concentrate on the big Confirmation services ahead. (May 1st-2010)

~~~~~~~~~~~~
Flag 1
~~~ 6/365 ~~~

Yay. I got the flag up. All by my self. A little proud of that. A beautiful day, both people-wise and weather-wise. In the evening we visited some friends of my parents for coffee. Nice that as well :D (May 2nd-2010)

~~~~~~~~~~~~
View from a Tractor
~~~ 7/365 ~~~

I’m so glad I finally got to help my dad at the farm, if only a little. Driving the tractor up and down harrowing the field. I wish I could help him more. MT found courage in himself to go down and get to know one of my parents neighboring kids – and had a lots of fun playing soccer and jumping on their trampoline. A good day :) (May 3rd-2010)

I’ve been scrapping today.

focus-on meSo far 5 layouts are done and 4 of them are printed. The above layout I did for my assignment for Sweet Tomato Designs Creative Team that I’m on. She has this new kit out FOCUS (she is collaborating with two other designers on it too, the link will take you to her store and more info about it).

It feels so good to just focus on the photos, papers and elements, finding the words and titles that goes with them – and stop worrying about everything else for a few moments. It really helps me use my creativity as well as it helps me telling our story. Getting the words down. I love taking photos and I LOVE making something with them; makes them even more meaningful to me.

I only wish I could remember to write down the things MT says. Sometimes it is GOLD, other times it makes me laugh out loud. He is a funny guy, but he also is a thinker and cares about other people. And then he is a boy; loves to play with guns and swords and being a hero. I can’t remember caring that much about such things (I might have forgotten, though.) – but this is really important to him – even though he knows movies and games of that kind has to wait until he is old enough. Like 30 or something….

Anyhow, this post went in another direction than planned. Expect one of my coming scrapbook pages to be about MT ;) Not that they aren’t already are mostly about him anyway…

Ok, getting back to what I planned to write about. My 365 – kind-off  project of the year. I’m not doing it in the same way as last year. Then I took a photo each and every day (more or less), but I never got even close to scrap the photos like I planned – and my dream of making a book with all the photos in them was something I gave up on during the summer (I still haven’t scrapped all the photos from our summer vacation, even though most of them is sorted and ready to go.. Ahem). So this year I’m still taking photos each week. I’m focusing on capturing the moments of everyday and the happenings in our life as well. Each month I take 12 photos on the 12th (got the idea from Cathy Zielske), then I try to get those photos scrapped as soon as possible. So far January and February are done, in March I forgot to take photos on the 12th – but I’m covered by another project that month so that is okay. This month I remembered to take photos (although not until noon), and off course I still have  a layout to make with them. In addition to this monthly layout I’m trying to do another thing: making a weekly double pager (or sometimes two double pages) with my favorite photos of the week.

That’s what I’ve been doing today (mostly) – and it is so much fun!! I keep it simple, write in Norwegian and they are for me and my family and friends – and not for the whole world to see – so I can use any photo I want (like MT with his friends and photos of my family too). I found some templates that are suiting my style and easily can hold a lot of photos – mine are made by Kitty Designs at O’ scraps (I’m drooling over some of her newest templates at the moment; they got curves). I let each week have one background color, this way there is a connection and it’s easy to see when the weeks shift. I love papers with structure in colors or cream and browns. Sometimes I use patterned papers as accents with the photos. I use only a few elements, maybe some stitching or some ribbons. And that is it. When finished I print it out here at home (size 8×8) and stick it into an album. And I can’t help myself from looking through the pages from time to time. I love these pages.

Please come by my house – and I’ll show them to you – but for now, here is one example:

week 12 2010 {a}

And next time I’ll tell you all about how much I love Pioneer Woman for giving actions out for free. Actions for Photoshop Elements too! Yay. They make my editing so much speedier, not to mention better! Ok. Another post. Now it’s time for some geek fun here at my place, The Big Bang Theory is on tv tonight (the only thing I watch all week long)!

Monday 18th:

eating ice cream

Spent most of the day at the farm with my parents, before we headed back home for the evening. MT wasn’t quite finished with eating ice cream on our national day, so he was happy to help Grandma empty her freezer (come to think of it – we all were..)

Tuesday 19th:

nice conversation

MT having a nice chat with Linda. We are going to miss her when she moves away soon – but we wish her luck in her new job and are so glad for the time she has spent here and for all her good work among the youths!!

Monday 11th:

We tried to take it slowly today. Not always easy after a busy week, but I managed some… Then we met a couple youths to prepare for their big service coming Sunday (konfirmasjon). Because they were only two and both were listening to what I told them (wow.) it went really fast.

However I didn’t remember to take any photos this day, the above is a favorite from our youth camp late April.

lime bites

MT went to the dentist today, he hadn’t been in for over two years so I was a bit worried about how his teeth were. But the dentist told us that he had shiny, strong teeth and keep on brushing like we do and please come back in two years time.

Monday 4th:

need some food

If I remember correctly all we did was hang out at home, MT joined me for a meeting with the youths (where we practiced and prepared for the big Confirmation Service) and I did some scrap booking. Visiting my facebook profile I see that I ordered the tickets for our trip to North Norway on this day so that’s why the photo above is of MT and a plane and taken on our last trip up to our friends in May-June 2007. Can’t wait to go there again!! It might be more, but sadly I can’t remember (help me anyone?!)

Tuesday 5th:

me + camera

Today MT went for a physical check and he had so much fun because the physiotherapist had so many fun toys to play with and so many challenging things to try out. After he went to kindergarten – happy to meet up with his friends again!

I did a blog post about a new scrap page both here and at my lime scrapped blog. But I did not snap any photos sadly, so I’m using a photo from May 2nd with my new hair cut – and a camera ;)

Truls - the elg(k)

This spring we got a new neighbor, Truls the elg(k). Every other day or so he was in the field above or below our house not caring much if we got out to talk with him. I reckon he’s a year old or so and out on his own for the first time. For this photo I wished I had a better lens, but so be it ;)

It’s alway fun trying out someone else’s toys :) MT had a blast on our very mini-vacation. We said our goodbyes to our friends and after an relaxing morning we headed out of Oslo. On our way home we made a stop at IKEA and at my brother’s. Two important places in our world ;) I had to work in the evening, a youth club and MT joined me. When we finally got home we both were terribly tired and full of impressions from the weekend, but so happy we got to spend it with friends and family!

Tuesday 24th:

yellow beauty

A super busy day with lots of happening and interactions at work. It went nice, though, and I got a lot accomplished. At home I didn’t do much, other than snapping a photo of this gorgeous yellow flower that I bought at IKEA yesterday. I’m not sure it’ll last long, so it’s nice to have it here alive in a photo (at least – I haven’t been good with flowers lately…)
